Leadership, Networking & Recognition Opportunities
The Society offers a number of leadership opportunities to its members through committees and awards. The Society’s committees cover a variety of topics to fulfill the mission of the Society. These committees are organized each year to meet the latest needs of Society members, including the regulatory environment and the specialized needs of members in specific areas of practice.
Since its beginning in 1919, the Society has had a strong and dedicated group of volunteers who have provided excellent service. Help us continue to build on this tradition of excellence by joining one of our several committees!
Awards
Each year a number of individuals are recognized for their outstanding work in the areas of public service, industry/business, government, and education. An outstanding WV Young CPA is also chosen. Awards are presented at the Annual Meeting and/or Committee Day.
Chapters
The Society’s eight Chapters give excellent networking opportunities for members in specific geographic areas and provide leadership training at the local level.
Leadership/Committees
Committees typically work on specific projects or activities often within an established timeframe on a variety of professional issues and events.
New CPAs
One of the most important initiatives of the WVSCPA is to encourage the newest CPAs in the profession by offering them a partial free registration to the Society's Annual Meeting, which is held each June at The Greenbrier Resort. They are also invited to attend Committee Day as a guest of the Society. Chapters send letters of congratulations and invite New CPAs to their meetings.
